Penn Pharma “tackles” Male Cancer - 23 May 2010
Supporting Male Cancer Awareness Month in June 2010, Penn Pharma has organised an inter-departmental Football Tournament entitled "Play with your Balls (Again!)" to take place in Tredegar Sport Centre on 4th June 2010 at 5pm.
More than 35,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year in the UK. Testicular cancer primarily affects younger men and is the most common form of cancer in men aged between 15 and 44. Testicular cancer is still quite rare, with nearly 2,000 new cases a year in the UK.*
Last year’s PWYB Event raised just over £475 for Penn’s corporate charity Tenovus, a cancer charity based in South Wales, adding to the overall total of over £3000 for the year.

As well as raising money through the players and spectators at the tournament, staff enjoyed a Wear It Blue day, paying £1 per person for the charity. This year, we are holding a dress-down / non-uniform day for all staff on site, again asking for £1 donations for Tenovus.
We would like to thank Tredegar Rugby Club for agreeing to host us after the tournament and to all staff who take part.
