Organisational Changes at Penn strengthen Technical Services offering - 28 Dec 2005
Under the new structure, Paul Thomas, Director of Quality at Penn since 2001, will fill the newly created role of Technical Director, with overall responsibility for the company’s Technical Services Department, in addition to his current responsibilities for QA, QC, Compliance, Analytical Development and Engineering. The current Technical Services team, headed by Dr Fred Higton has been extended to include three further Technical Specialists and two Technical Writers. Pam Turner QP, Debbie Williams and Dr Rachel Hopkins will transfer to the Technical Specialists role from the current Project Management team – this move strengthens the ability of the Technical team to deliver Client support on a Technical level. All 3 are highly experienced in delivering added value technical solutions in support of Client projects. Marc Rees and Claire Davies will transfer to the position of Technical Writers also having previously supported Clients’ needs within the Project Management team. The remit of the team has also been expanded beyond Formulation Development to include all technical aspects of Client projects across all services. The Compliance Department, headed by Matthew Jaynes and the QA/QC department, led by Gaynor Langley, will continue to report to Paul. Richard Barnett Engineering Manager has been promoted to Head of Site Services/Engineering.
