Key Client Sector to benefit from changes at Penn

Key Client Sector to benefit from changes at Penn - 13 Mar 2006

This change was stimulated by the growing demand in the Pharmaceutical outsourcing sector for the fast turn around of early phase CTS studies. Rather than apply the same multi-faceted internal systems that Penn may use for its larger supply and distribution studies, and coupled with the fact that Penn currently deals with an increasing number of clients requiring these crucial projects, it has become clear that there is a need for a dedicated team to manage these projects. The new five-strong team will consist of a project leader, QA and three technicians. Headed by Aldyth Smith, who has more than 12 years of experience at Penn, it will develop streamlined processes for document management and utilise the existing GMP systems to improve delivery of smaller clinical trial supply projects. Craig Rennie, Chief Executive at Penn, said: "Penn is a rapidly growing international company and by introducing this dedicated team we are developing a capacity for a much faster turnaround of projects, reducing the project delivery time by half. This approach will be instrumental to our continued growth within the pharmaceutical industry, as well as assisting our key virtual pharma and biotech clients to reach their ever more demanding development milestones." Penn Pharmaceutical Services Ltd is a leading provider of outsourced pharmaceutical development services to the international healthcare industry. The company’s core business expertise includes a fully comprehensive product development service, which consists of formulation and analytical development, clinical trial manufacturing, packaging and supply management and extensive contract manufacturing. Penn also offers CMC Consultancy and Qualified Person (QP) Services.
