Penn Continues to Increase its Headcount - 22 Nov 2007
Penn Pharmaceutical Services Ltd, one of the UK’s leading providers of fully integrated pharmaceutical outsourcing services, continues to strengthen its team with four key appointments, including Rod Lugg who will be Penn’s new Head of Manufacturing Development. Also joining Penn are Edwin Peace, Leanne Wagstaffe and Anne Millward.
Rod Lugg has joined Penn as the Head of Manufacturing Development and will report to John Roberts, Director of Manufacturing. He will focus on the strategic development of Penn’s manufacturing facility driving process improvement and technological advances. Rod is a qualified chemical engineer with more than 17 years experience in pharmaceutical production and project and operations management. Prior to joining Penn, he worked at a range of companies in the pharmaceutical sector including Catalent, Johnson and Johnson, and Glaxo SmithKline.
Dr Edwin Peace has joined Penn as Business Development Manager, reporting to Rob Jones, Business Development Director at Penn. Dr Peace joins Penn from Exchange Supplies Ltd and he has a strong track record in sales and technical success in the global medical device and pharmaceutical GMP contract packaging arena such as topical solutions. Dr Peace has a BSc in Biochemistry and has a Doctorate in Toxicology and Pharmacokinetics from the University of Portsmouth.
Leanne Wagstaffe has joined Penn as Purchasing Manager. Leanne has over 10 years experience in Purchasing, Master Production Scheduling, Capacity Planning and Customer Services. In her previous role at International Rectifiers Ltd she was responsible for Purchasing, capacity planning, MRP, Supply Chain Management, Inventory management and buyer support. Leanne has also delivered several improvement initiatives including IT solutions for supplier performance management, purchase order processing and critical resource review.
Anne Millward has joined Penn as CTS Project Manager and will be responsible for the Project Management of CTS client projects, an area targeted for growth. Anne joins Penn from COSi Ltd in Maesteg where she worked as a Vendor Schedulor and then became a supply chain commodity buyer and subsequently became a Customer Account Manager for key accounts. Anne has an M.Cips in procurement and is currently studying for a professional diploma in Marketing.

In addition to the wealth of new starters at Penn, Alison Lewis has been promoted to Client Services Manager. Alison will be responsible for developing the BD Associates within the Business Development groups both in Europe and the US.
