Penn Strategic Alliances
With Penn’s unique suite of drug development, clinical trial supply, manufacturing and consultancy services, we offer our clients a truly integrated service from our single site facility in South Wales, UK.
To further complement these core services, Penn has also established strategic alliances with carefully selected partners who enable us to go beyond our core activities to ensure our clients have access to a wider breath of expertise, technologies and global reach.
Some of the strategic alliances we have made to date include:
Penn/Specials Clinical Manufacturing Strategic Alliance - This innovative strategic alliance was formed in February 2008 with the Northumberland based company to provide outsourced services in sterile manufacturing, packing and distribution of investigational medicinal products (IMPs).
By working together the two independent companies will be able to offer a full range of IMP-related products and services under their individual brands, embracing both sterile and non-sterile manufacturing technology. The agreement will also open up Penn’s established international sales network to Specials’ established expertise and product range.
Under the alliance agreement, Penn will provide non-sterile services such as formulation development, analytical development, stability testing, secondary packing and distribution, while Northumberland-based Specials will provide sterile manufacturing, filling, primary packing, microbiological testing and method development services.

Penn/Xerimis Strategic Alliance – This partnership was set up in 2002 to further expand our clinical trial supply distribution services into the US and Canada. We have been working successfully with Xerimis since this time and have assisted numerous clients with international clinical trial logistics and distribution challenges.
